Bio

Arturo Mesquite

Lyricist

He bridges two worlds—doctor and lyricist—using music and medicine to empower individuals and reveal the meaning behind the words. Beyond his original musical Tree of Hope, inspired by the life of Frida Kahlo, Arturo has written lyrics for Cyrano de Bergerac, staged at the Ford Amphitheatre in Los Angeles. He studied musical lyric writing with Pamela Phillips Oland and Harriet Schock (ASCAP), and also received mentorship from playwright George Furth. As a performer, Arturo has appeared in musical productions including Evita, Fulgor y Muerte, and at the Águila Real Public Theater alongside Angélica Aragón. He has also performed with the McCallum Theatre ensemble in The Sound of Music.

Whether through medicine or music, Arturo Mesquite creates experiences that invite healing, presence, and human connection—where every lyric carries a message, and every performance leaves something lasting behind.
